Geert Houwen

My name is Geert Houwen, i was born in a small village named Nuenen in the Netherlands. I am an energetic and driven mind who works with a lot of passion in the hospitality industry. I started with 15 years old as a little boy in the kitchen, directly I knew I would like to do something in the hospitality.
So I decided to do a hotel management study. In the first 4 years, I did a lots of internships in kitchen, restaurants and hotel, the last 4 years I did a bachelor in Hospitality management in Maastricht.

During my study and internships I worked for 10 years in the Restaurant Bengel, a grill restaurant in the Netherlands, there I began as a waitress and finished as an assistant manager, with a lots of energy i loved be working there.

My last internship I worked in South Africa as an assistant manager of the OR Tambo Center in the Birchwood Hotel; The biggest conference hotel of South Africa with wedding parties of 900 people and conferences over 1200 people. During this time I saw a lot of different cultures and I knew after my studies I need to find a nice place to work with different cultures.

In 2012 I started working on Mallorca in Paparazzi restaurant that is a nice Mediterranean restaurant. In 2014 I got the opportunity to go to restaurant Gusto & Los Amigos to work in one of the biggest restaurants of Cala dor. This 2 restaurants are in the heart of Cala dor, every day with love and passion we try to give the best service to all our clients. I love meeting everyday new people and give them a warm feeling where they would like to come back during their holiday.

We work every year with a lot of students in the restaurant and my passion is to teach them all i know about Hospitality so they can explore the hospitality world.
